Hey i was wondering exactly how accurate is zillow.com?

ZILLOW is a crap shoot.. sometimes accurate sometimes not. I think it depends on location but still can be off..
just refi a home.. Appraised for 700K, zillow had it at 360K, and way off since the land alone is assessed at 450k.

I don't use Zillow for appraisals, but I do use it for comps. 

Zillow's "Zestimate" is rarely accurate, but their "Recently Solds" are.  You can at least see what houses have sold for recently.  But remember, it doesn't say anything about property condition or amenities so that's on your own research, but it gives you a good idea. 

My advice would be to talk to a few realtors.  If they think you're even somewhat serious about either letting them write up your contracts for purchasing a property or selling a property you acquire, they'll be more than happy to pull comps for you.  My realtor just emails them to me I don't have to go to her office or anything.

Zillow is only good for it's interface and not the details...imo.
