Well, today was yet another reminder of why Ohio is 46th out of the 50 states for being business friendly.  Today, our idiot socialist governor put forth his latest initiative.  His brilliant plan is to request that the Public Utilities Commission put a moratorium on shutting of gas and electric utilities for non-paying customers for the rest of the winter!  What a moron!

Even a 3rd grader couldn't have come up with such a STUPID IDEA!  Not only will that hurt the honest customers who actually pay their bills on time, but it will hurt the thousands of tenants who will get hopelessly behind on their utility bills due to this moratorium.  In addition, why would any low income tenant pay their utility bill once a moratorium is declared? 

Without a doubt, this is the DUMBEST initiative I've ever heard of!!!

Last year my Engine Company responded to an elderly woman laying in the middle of the road.  She was 68 years old.  She had slipped on the snow covered street while WALKING HOME FROM THE BUS STOP.
She told us she and her husband had just one car and he needed it Doctors appointments and Dyalysis treatments.
BEST PART..................She had to work full time because of the cost of her husbands medications.  She worked for the State in the dept. that HELPED IMMIGRANTS with their HEATING ASSISTANCE!!!!!!

This woman and her husband were born in this country, her husband was a WWII Marine that landed on Iwo Jima!!!  And at 68 she was WALKING home from the BUS STOP because they couldn't afford to buy even a cheap used car.

Think it'll actually be enacted?...The utilities could turn it down, though their expenses should be covered by increasing their rates...Sounds like he's trying to buy the poor vote for his next election...

Heard this yesterday as well and began yelling at the TV.  A family of 5 in Toledo house caught fire about 3 weeks ago when left candles burning at night because they hadn't turned on the electricity.  Everybody but the father died so the governor gets this idea.  They were renting the house as well so that means that the landlord didn't put the smoke detectors in for the tenant.  So I'm still waiting for that to hit the fan.

I was listening to NPR on my way to work yesterday and I heard a guy talking about politicians.  He asked if you would prefer to be doing a good job or be perceived to be doing a good job?  The answer is the difference between a politician and a human.  They don’t care if the policies they back are good or not, just that they are perceived to be good.
