Deportation lists?
«
on:
February 24, 2008, 11:01:05 AM »
Anyone ever come across some sort of deportation list?
I was thinking that the people that are being threatened of being deported that own homes must be motivated to sell them no?
Kind of like a divorce list.
Any thoughts?

I would think they don't own a house to begin with because they would not have valid paperwork to get financing? of course this is just an assumption so you may want to look into it.

Hmm... now there's an idea I never thought of. WHile I think it would probably generate a lot of leads, I don't think they would be very qualified at all.
Then again, you never know unless you try...

Many of them would own homes.
I've seen many illegals that own homes in Orlando. Ever heard of a foreign investor?
Heck, there were even loan programs a few years ago that were doing very low downpayment programs for foreign investors.

Very few undocumented aliens ever go through deportation. Instead, they take voluntary return, go home with Uncle Sam paying for their transportation, visit with family for a week or so, and then return to the USA.
They don't have any reason to sell their house.

I know immigrants who own their houses outright. And yes some have faced deportation. A common misconception is that immigrants feed off the government and have little money. Keep in mind both legal and illegal immigrants can be subjected to deportation.
Tien, I think you are on to something with this idea of yours. The immigrant families that I am familiar with are not of Mexican/Spanish descent and some speak very little english. The hardest part of putting a 'plan of attack' together would be getting them to trust you, or just to plainly communicate. Most immigrant families in America are very tight nit and family oriented, despite what part of the world they are from and what language they speak.
Once an immigrant of any descent is deported you are probably too late. What you want is to communicate with them before or during the deportation process. This process is called Removal Proceedings and that process takes place via the Federal Immigration court system, not USCIS. So I would look at that court systems records to begin your search.
