Nouveau Riche

I went to a Nouveau Riche seminar this past week.  The marketing aspect of this appears that it could be fairly lucrative.  Obviously, like any other company, they want you to purchase their seminars, classes, etc.  However, it seems like it could be a great opportunity.  Has anyone joined?  Any positive/negative feedback?

codog13 - search the forum for information posted around the Nouveau Riche program. There are a lot of good information here about the program that will help you save money.

My personal suggestion - instead of paying for a mentor/course, use the money for your first real estate deal. You can learn a ton of information here in the forum and at your local REIA meetings.

In this thread:http://www.reiclub.com/forums/index.php/topic,35092.0.html, you indicated you signed up for another series of courses offered by yet another me-too guru with ostensibly few credentials and what is probably a slick presentation.  These courses total tens of thousands of dollars and won’t offer you anything close to the level of understanding or experience you’ll receive if you simply buy a cheap REO, fix, and flip it.  What exactly are you expecting to learn at these courses that you can’t acquire by reading borrowed books from your library and meeting like minded investors at your local real estate clubs?

Nouveau Riche is nothing more than an MLM scheme that hides behind real estate.  They tend to be militant and relentless sales people that won’t leave you alone once they have their hooks into you.  Their M.O. is to jump on those that criticize them.  Just watch what happens to my comments here.  This thread, like most others regarding NR, will quickly degrade.

Are you interested in making money with real estate or selling courses to your friends and family?

I got the same impression a couple of years ago when first exposed to them. Do yourself a favor and learn at your local REIA and as a bird dog or property locator for an established wholesaler that can act as a mentor.

Too expensive for little gain. Gain that I can gather myself for free.

There was one excited NR member salesman. I asked how many houses he bought using the knowledge he leaned from the seminar. He replied that he has not bought any and is in the process of saving some money. That was a big red flag for me. If he learned some wonderful secret knowledge, then how come he didn't buy 5 properties?

So i decided to forget NR. Sounded too much like scam. Not saying they are scam, but seemed like one.

"Who's your daddy?"

Take the $20K and leverage about $100K or more of property....

i've read through alot of posts on here.  a search should give you an abundance of information.  for the most part, i would say many investors aren't pro NR (at least on this forum)

They are a scam. Their so called REI program is just a smokescreen to sucker you into a MLM program that won't get you nowhere. As someone mentioned I would use the cost to join them to buy real estate and make money that way.

I really don't know much about nouveau riche so I won't comment on their system.

But I know a decent amount about internet marketing and one of the leading tactics for promoting products is to introduce and anonymous person who brings up various subjects to raise attention towards a particular product or service.  Then drive newbies to the search engines where they can learn more...

The easiest way to tell people like this is when they make no valuable contributions other than to introduce some question that leads people where they want them to go.....

After reading your response, I was a little confused, so I went back to my other posting.  Low and behold, I mistakenly left out the word "NOT" in that post (which I have since gone back and edited).  Meaning, I didn't choose to sign up for ICRE.  I went to the free seminar and it sounded interesting.  However, and I agree with you, I didn't think it was worth the money.

As far as NR, my interest in this was the marketing side of it, which seems like it could be a nice monthly income if done correctly.  I really have no interest in shelling out 16K for classes.  Just wanted to clear this up.  I am a strong believer in good education..... however I am an even stronger believer in gaining experience.

I am glad to have learned of REIclub.com, as I have decided this is not worth the money.  I am going to go back to the NR person I was dealing with and share what I have learned here.  I am interested to get his take.

Make sure you post how that conversation goes.  Should be interesting.  MLM is HIGH PRESSURE because they have to make people feel like they're missing out on the deal of a lifetime if they don't sign up.
