I bought a second hand vehicle recently and absolutely love it. It was a insurance write-off. I have no idea what happened to the previous owner nor do I care. I got a bargain that two people soon afterwards offered to buy from me at a profit!
You had a terrible experience that has nothing to do with this excellent deal. Just watch a few episodes of the Antiques Roadshow. How many of those artifacts were acquired from people who passed away. Do you see the excitement in the faces when they are told "This should fetch $50,000 at auction!"
At what point do they think about poor old Great grandfather Ted?
Not quite the same but you get the picture.

Another way to look at it....

A family of five from another country has sufficient money but not credit.  If they are able to live in the house and it helps them out, as long as you let them know, do you think they would care?

Suicide victim donates organs to someone in need of an organ.  Think they care?

It's the circle of life.
