The Crash Course

Has anyone seen The Crash course videos?
I came upon them when searching for infomation about inflation . It is 20 small videos talking about trends in housing, oil and other things . I did not watch every video in full length , but I plan on it when I have time .I found them interesting. So what are your thoughts on these videos ?

It is hard to determine what  the future will hold , but really all the evidence points out the fact that it might not be good , so im just trying to figure out what are the best steps to take so that me and my family are prepared.
Things im considering are planting fruit trees on my property ( my house is on 2 acers of open land ).
Buying one or two more guns and lots more ammo.
Building my own solar panels and a wind turbine.
and well I'd be open to any other thoughts I should considers , or maybe im going over board? but I'd rather be prepared .......
