Hello everyone, I am very new to the sight it's an awesome resource, I have been in the restaurant business most of my life, own my own restaurant here in Queens, I have always been interested in real-estate investing but never had the knowledge of how to do it, sure I know the basics  but not the inside stuff, I am not the "read a book " type of guy I like to be hands on (if that makes any sense) I am so exited about all the opportunist to make some great money out there with REO's I can hardly sleep, but don't know how to get started, I am in the middle of trying to build up my credit and save some cash but it's very hard right know with the economy (most of my money is put back in to the restaurant to keep it open).

I am looking for some help, I would be willing to do anything to get a mentor to help me out and get me started on the road to investing, I have plenty of free time my brother is running the business right know so I can concentrate on investing, I have access to a construction company that will do repairs very cheep (Family) I have listings of REO's and Pre-foreclosure Properties in the Tri-state area all I need is the knowledge in how to put the deals together.

So if anyone out there in the NY area would like to take me on please let me know, willing to split profits and do most of the work for the knowledge, thanks you so much,

Hi like everyone you know that this industry is still booming in spite of country's economic downturn. There's always an open door for everybody. If you are interested then you have to complete

1. academic certificate courses, and / or
2. you can start working as bird dog and learn process from there.

But if you wish to jump right now (from 2) you as you have experience of food business and you might well survive and do good then do some research in forums like this, read articles, read real estate books that covers everything. Get a mentor by working for the mentor.

Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone will clean them?

Hi, I birddog in NYC,( bronx to be exact) since you have the time, you can go to Real estate clubs in NYC. You can also go to meetups.com, their are many RE clubs in NYC. I signed up for one, that does wholesale ( that would be good for you to start) and short sale. The next one is the first week of Nov. Or find another one in your area. Much success.
