Anyone want to talk about the "Law of Attraction?"
Anyone out there familiar with the law of attraction?
I thoguht this might a more postive topic to discuss rather than arguing over who is right & wrong, or what the president should do next, etc.

The law of attraction is the most powerful law in the universe…it is absolute.
You are constantly creating, either consciously or by default.
Your attention and focus must be on your desire, not the lack of it.
The law of attraction, where do I start?...there are only 2 real emotions…good & bad…when you feel a negative emotion, you can feel it in your gut, right?...you know that apprehensive feeling that something is wrong…on the other hand, when you feel a positive emotion, you don’t feel that weird feeling in your gut, do you?...this is because we are supposed to enjoy life and feel good…the purpose of life is joy…the foundation of life is freedom.
You get what you think about, whether you are asking for it or not!....you are an extension of source energy….you are on the leading edge of creation, as is all humans on the earth…ever heard sayings about how everything is connected?...this is true.
Let’s say I have negative thoughts because something happened that was a bad experience…for example…I have a lack of money because I lost in the stock market…if I continue to only focus and think about the lack of money, all I will get is more feeling of lack of monies, and I will most likely only meet people who also share the same “thoughts” as me, and who also have a lack of money…now, if I then realize that I’m the extension of source energy, and I “saturate” my thoughts on focusing on all the money I want…all the money that I soon will have…all the money that is sitting in sort of an escrow acct. just waiting for me to “ask “ for it…then that has to be what I shall receive…and the harder I focus on it, the sooner it will become.
Ask and it is given….does that make sense?
Step 1 – (your work) – you ask
Step 2 – (not your work) – Universe answers
Step 3 – (your work) – You allow it in by tuning the vibrational frequency of your Being to match the vibrational frequency of your desire, rather than the contrasting experience which gave rise to the desire.
Your emotions are the indicators of your alignment with Source Energy.
You are an energetic vibrational being in an energetic vibrational environment
You are a vibrational transmitter and receiver.
The most powerful law in the universe is the Law Of Attraction which says:…That which is likeunto itself is drawn.

Michael,
I don't think this is a more "positive" topic. Although I respect your opinion, I think this "law of attraction" nonsense is nothing more than a bunch of psychological mumbo jumbo, sold by self-help gurus to ignorant newbies to make them think they can get rich simply by chanting some nonsense. Spending hours each day chanting "I feel rich" won't do nearly as much to make you rich as getting off your butt and DOING SOMETHING!
I know that my response wasn't very positive and that I'm not aligned with the Global "Source Energy", but I'm willing to risk it.
I'll bet this is something FurnishedOwner would like. Maybe you can send her a PM and you two can get aligned with the universe.
Mike

Taxlien,
I will repeat what I said in the PM that I sent you. I think your postings are great. What this site needs is good INTELLIGENT people like yourself that post here and bring something of value to this site. I have read everything you have posted so far and find it very informative. Unfortunately it seems as if you are getting caught in the middle of something that you are in no way related. Please keep posting and being involved. I am sure for every negative comment you have received you have probably gotten 10 positive comments. Welcome to the site and keep up the good work.

Taxlien,
I am far from the guy that keeps this site up and running smoothly, but thank you for your kind words. I know some people think the moderators can be bullies and just try to throw weight around, but that is not the case at all. We are all volunteers with different jobs that donate our time to keeping this site clean from spam and porn and BULLIES. The way that this site will continue to thrive and flourish is by keeping it not only clean from spam and porn, but also by having new members like yourself, and RobInAtlanta that are willing to join up and start helping other members new and old without asking for anything in return. You can say what you want about some of the political leanings of many of the members of this site, but one thing you can't say is that this site is not educational.

I am a big believer of the Law of Attraction. I have bought and read almost every book I can find on the subject. Worst case scenario, it keeps you thinking positive!
I do believe however people use "teaching" the law of attraction to make money i.e. guru but take the information for what its worth.

Taxlienguy,
I'm having a little trouble with your "Law of Attraction". Immediately what came to my mind was Rev. Ike--"Send me your social security checks! It will be returned to you tenfold!"
So the Law of Attraction worked great for Rev. Ike, but not so good for the senior citizens he fleeced.
I'm trying to get it, and it's certainly the text for every get-rich-quick infomercial that I've ever seen. It's the Bipolar person on an omnipotent high. It's the "Little Engine that Could". It's the over-the-top self belief--Joan of Arc, Hitler, Napoleon--that their way is THE way.
But does the "Law of Attraction" have any checks and balances built into it? Or is it Bernie Madoff saying, "Of course you'll make 100% on your investment, just think positive."
We're not atoms, glomming onto each other. Money doesn't just come because we are good wishers. So I just don't get it. Please teach me, I want to learn this Law.

Finally, PM and I are in agreement!
But I still want to learn about this law. If it is a law. Otherwise, I will continue pondering the more pessimistic slogan: "Dreams never cooked rice.".

I can tell you how the gurus portray this "law".
You say to the cosmic forces that "I am rich" and the cosmic forces respond by making you rich! Many of the gurus suggest saying to yourself over and over "I feel rich", "I feel rich", "I feel rich" or whatever you're trying to accomplish "I feel thin", "I feel thin", "I feel thin", etc. They also suggest cutting out pictures of what you want and taping them all over the house, like on your mirror. Then you think how you'll feel when you have that thing. For example, cutting out pictures of a beautiful new Mercedes convertible and pasting on your mirror. Imagine that you're driving that Mercedes and the wind through your hair. Oh...Soooooo..Sweet!
I could go on and on - I've heard these huckster gurus speak at various conventions and one thing I can tell you for a fact is that is nothing but
Someone on this forum said it more concisely than I ever could: "Dreams never cooked rice!!!"

Hey prop manager,
I can't comment on any of the workshops you have been to....I was not aware, until you wrote it here, that these seminars take place. I'm in agreement with you, I am pretty much against any type of selp help guru making money off of other people. The law is real, but people have to discover it forthemselves. If you read Think & Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill - (which is all about the law of attraction if you were not aware, and one of the most recognized authors ever on the subject wrote it)...there is a story about how Carnegie sat back and waited years and years for his pupil to figure it out on his own, and actually enjoyed watching him figure it out on his own. The guru's are doing what they do in any field,,going rah, rah, rah and getting you hyped so you buy a package.
It can be found through simple meditation, not a course. And yes, I agree with bixtexts, there are many books out there for people who are seeking more information.
I think you need to learn more about it, you might enjoy what you read and benefit from itas well. I can tell you have a rather hostile toward others biews who are not in compliance or allignment with your views. Which is cool, I respect that. But, all you have been exposed to is the gurus (( which again I didnt know existed, I'm not in that scene)).
Did you know?....all of the truly successful scientists and creative people all used the law of attraction concepts to thrive and become famous in hisotry books to be printed for the next thousand years....for example: Napoleon Hill, Zig Ziglar, Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, All of the people involved with the US Steel company, Thomas Ford, and the list goes on, and on, and on.
Just open the T&GR book, and after a few pages it lists these people. My question to you is, if they did indeed prosper and change millions of lives by this simple law, and they sttod before here this very day, which you tell them they are full of it, like you are telling me??
