 I could be wrong, but im 99% sure it was you.  I guess were both in agreement now.... Obama is a Socialist, as was Bush.

I agree though that this Socialist mentality has been coming since... well, a long time.  Most say since the 1920's.  This has been coming way before Obama, and Bush played a big role on growing the government.

The AMA (American Medical Association) and the AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) two HUGE GROUPS just came out in favor of the health care bill.

The AMA said, "It's not a perfect bill but it's a good bill.  It will be progress."

Once again, FO, you seem completely ignorant of the facts.  The AMA and AARP are both left leaning organizations.  The AMA only represents 20% of the doctors in this country.  The other 80% are capitalists who went to school for all those years TO MAKE MONEY!

Guess who'd funding the MILLIONS of dollars of anti-health bill ads?  Don't you wonder who's revving up the masses with scare tactics?

THE HEALTH INSURANCE INDUSTRY!

Earth shattering revelation there FO!  Who would have thought that a socialist takeover of healthcare would threaten insurance companies?

Their profits will take a hit if they have to insure everyone.  They want business as usual.  They want their obscene profits.  They could care less about their customers.

They don't have "obscene" profits.  In fact, once again, you don't know what you're talking about.  Have any FACTS to back up your claims?  Hmmmmm?

The FACT is that we have the finest healthcare system in the world!  When my wife had a major stroke (even though she is young), she was seen by an ER doctor within 5 minutes of being carried into the ER and seen by a neurologist within 30 minutes!  She almost immediately had a scan of her brain and was given TPA (a clot buster drug) within 45 minutes.  As a result of this care, all her paralysis was gone within 24 hours of her stroke and she is completely healthy today.  That would NOT happen under socialism.

When I had a torn retina on a Saturday night, I was seen almost immediately by an ER doctor and had emergency laser surgery ON A SUNDAY to temporarily repair the tear.  Then, I was seen by a retinal specialist on Monday and had more laser surgery.  If not for that treatment, I would likely be blind in one eye!  That level of care would NEVER happen under socialism!!!  This excellent treatment is EXACTLY why political figures and the wealthy from all over the world come to the United States for treatment.  That is about to disappear under the Socialist Obama's healthcare plan.

Anybody with some honesty and fiscal sense would do better than Obama.  And, to my knowledge, most on this board do have that.

I'm glad that your wife had good care after her stroke.  However, that doesn't mean that she wouldn't have gotten that same level of emergency care in almost any other first world country.

You have a very myopic and ethnocentric view of the world.  I doubt you have ever been outside of the United States, yet you carry on like some kind of expert, comparing American medical care to that of the rest of the world.

Our daughter had to have surgery in Japan when we lived there, and we were satisfied with the level of care.  Our accident-prone family has been to E.R.'s in a number of countries.  It's a running family joke, we travel, we visit that country's E.R.  On our last trip abroad, we just visited the E.R. near the U.S. airport before we departed, got it out of the way:  minor surgery on injured toe.

Phillippines:  head laceration, stitches.   France:  migraine attack   Denmark:  bicycle accident, surgery, fractured jaw.  Thailand:  high fever, vomiting.  Switzerland:  Meningeal symptoms.  Mexico, etc. etc.

We had friends who had a micro-preemie in Japan, something like one and a half pounds, he had first class care for 8 months until he was big enough to go home.  That baby is now a schoolboy.

So if you have a heart attack in Calgary, London, Tokyo, Frankfurt you should be getting the same level of care under their SOCIALIZED MEDICINE system as you would get in the US.

In some areas other countries are better--the first heart transplant was done in South Africa.  There is a Mexican cardiologist who has done the world's most innovative cardiac surgeries.  I have an acquaintance, a thoracic surgeon who is dying to go to Tokyo to work under Japanese doctors, the best in the world for stomach cancer.

Yes, some foreigners come here for advanced medicine.  Also, some Americans now go to other countries for the same treatment but at an affordable price.

I am looking forward to the coming globalization of medical services.  We will be able to combine a vacation with the hip or knee replacement.

All minor medical issues, except the miningeal symptoms - but since you didn't say meningitis, I'll assume that these symptoms were nothing also.  Unlike your ER visits, having a stroke in the base of your brain is an immediate life threatening condition.  Without IMMEDIATE quality care, a person with this problem could die.  There was no time for the take a number and wait, nor time to screw around waiting for a neurologist to show up.

I am looking forward to the coming globalization of medical services.

Just like a good little socialist.  And did you know that the healthcare bill includes a wealth tax on unearned income (rental income)?  The Socialist in Chief may just tax you right out of business!

Wierd how the IRS is involved with "health",,,,it was never about health!!!!!!!! A major Tax bill is coming,,and you won't be able to pay it.Us as small business have always been the enemy.We have no Unions,lobbyists,,,,,,we are the last real freedom the communist must overcome.
