Biggest scene of corruption I have ever seen.  What a disgrace.  All members of Congress should feel ashamed of themselves and .......  cussing

I wonder what the backlash will be?

This will not bankrupt the country. The country is already bankrupt.  What bankrupted the country was the President Ronald Reagan's economic and foreign policies — tax cuts combined with substantial increases in Cold War-era defense spending.  This was corrected for time by the best President we have had in the 20th and 21st centuries to date Bill Clinton who reversed the trend, and in 1998 the U.S. notched its first budget surplus in nearly 20 years.

Hoosier. I know you're mad about this. But here's a question for you. How many shares ofpharmaceutical or Helathcare companies did you buy today.. Pfizer and Merk were up 1.8% and 1.2% respectively. Tenet Healthcare and Health Management Associates were up 8% and 8.4% respectively.. My point is that the govt. will always be doing something to make you money if you can "zig when they zag". These changes will always come and go regardless of how you feel about them.. You might as well profit from it... Just another way of looking at it IMO..

Bluemoon,
I believe those Democrats thought they were representing their constituents.  The populace is split down the middle in lots of areas.

Here our Congressman didn't think that the bill reined in the insurance companies enough so he voted against the bill.

No, they didn't think they were representing their constituents.  They were representing big government socialists (Osama and the big labor unions).

It doesn't rein in ANYTHING, except quality of care.  As Osama said, where you used to go into the emergency room and get 5 tests, maybe now you'll only get one.  God help you if you needed that second, third, fourth, or fifth test!!!

This doesn't rein in spending.  It doesn't rein in the deficit.  It doesn't rein in run-away lawsuits.  It doesn't rein in big government bureaucrats.  It doesn't rein in the IRS (it drastically increases the size of the IRS).  All it does is spend a huge amount of money we don't have; drastically increase taxes (including a new tax on unearned income); and will result in the bankruptcy of the USA (sooner than needed).

SO I guess the Democrats were representing their voters  rolleyes...Oh wait this HAD to happen before they went home on break to be face to face with their voters for some reason.Hmmmmm, wonder why.Good lord this is a push for something so much bigger than typical democrat/republican blamegame.

I thought you knew this FD,,,,come on man.I personally am pleased not one republican(along w/ 34 democrats)voted on this peice of crap.

Bluemoon,
It's a good thing when our checks/balances open debate system works such as when the Repubs took control of congress in 94'.The founders never intended on one party rule,,,that's communism.

So if Reagan was soooo terrible,,after resolving Carter's mess,, the economy boomed for years. Now I agree there was debt added up,so explain why/how Obama has double the debt and yet almost doubled unemployment. If I had to choose I'd choose the debt with economic boom rather than this mess we are in now.

Well lets try to be fair. BO didn't create this deficit or the unemployment rate. You're comparing Reagan's 8 yrs. to BO's 1 yr. Only time will tell. But I don't think any president deserves all the credit or the blame.

If Democrats truly represented the American people, they would have listened to the majority when they said they did not want Obamacare. This was never about the so called evil insurance companies, this was about how Obama and company could gain control over people's lives. Let's be honest for a moment, do you know why Obama and gang aren't focusing on riviving the economy? It's because they don't like capitalism to begin with. Everything they bash is linked to free market capitalsim.

Health Insurers are evil
Wallstreet is evil
Banks are evil
Big Phara is evil
Big Oil is evil
Medical Device makers are evil

When they talk about "fixing the economy" they talk about stupid stuff like "building windmills and solar panels". It's businesses that create jobs. It's the entrepreneurs who create jobs. Obama is now going to focus on not the economy but on immigration and climate change next. People are losing their jobs and homes not because of health care but because of unemployment. So once again, who is representing who?

They really only represent their districts.  For example Shelia Jackson Lee represents a district that wants healthcare, while John Boehner represents a district that doesn’t.  All politics is local.

The MAJORITY of voters elected Obama.  The MAJORITY of voters wanted him to carry through on his promise of UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE for all Americans.  This was exactly WHY I voted for him.  This is why I would vote for him again--he delivered.

Our elected representatives--Republican and Democrat hashed this all over the place for the last year.  Finally there was a bill ready to vote on.  The bill was voted on by BOTH Republicans and Democrats.  On live TV.

THE BILL HAS PASSED.  The bill the MAJORITY wanted, passed by a MAJORITY vote.

I have never heard such a bunch of cry babies as the Republican MINORITY after this vote.  Really bad unsportsmanlike behavior, from a party that used to be thought of as gentlemen.

Calling our president names, a tyrant, a socialist, all that crap is just plain Un-American and really bad manners.  Shame on all the people who who helping create this more divisive and hostile environment.

F.O.,

G.W. Bush was called much worse during his tenure but I didn't hear you decrying those actions and words at the time. You were probably spouting the worst possible vile with a smile on your face. Look, we know you want governement to control your life, I do not want it to control mine. Simple but very different political philosphies. We can at least agree on that.
