Plem,,Hoosier,

My stepmom is a 30yr plus Nurse,,two aunts are nurses, six friends nurses. It's no "cushy" job.In fact some of the very people who are strictly "for the money" are the ones who suck at their job.I hear it all the time how sorry alot of your fellow nurses are.

I don't think Hoosier is that person(hope not). When I graduated High school evryone was "going to be a nurse",,very, very few did(see above statement=6).I even know of three who did make it and are now in different careers away from medical(so actually it was 9).

I used a few mentors when getting into Real estate.I did'nt rely on one person's "strategy",,so I combined theirs with some of my own creativity and I'm happy. You're moving the right direction Hoosier,,just don't expect for any miracles to happen. If it was cheap, easy, fun, made loads of money with little effort==everyone would do it.Anything I can help with,,you know where I'm at. Cool

Its not like im going to show up with a pillow and refuse to do anything, I get it phlem, simma down .. simma down!  Im not lazy, or a bad person, itll be fine.  But Im just saying, I think people make Nursing seem harder than it is, based on my clinical experience.

But hopefully I will follow Jakes plans and be able to get out of Nursing here in a few years and be a investor full time.  Ide love to play my cards right, and have my 30K working for me, and be able to quit nursing by the time in like .... 22-23 years old.  That would be amazing.

Hoosier. I'm not saying you're lazy or a bad person. I'm saying your expections are out of line. Its one thing expect heallthcare as a stepping stone. Its just that things have a way not going the way you planned. The people who get "burned out" always sound like you do right now when they start. When/if things happen to where they're working longer than they thought, they start to resent the field and basically borderline abuse patients. You can make some very good money in this field AND care about the patients. But you have CARE about the people you're caring for first and foremost. Who knows, you might even actually like nursing and want to do a few shift/week after you're a millionare! beer

Phlem, I will admit that Nursing isnt as bad as I originally thought.  But let me be straight forward... Im a 18 year old kid who got average grades in HS and lives in the Midwest.  The Midwest is horrible right now, and Health Care is the only field that ANYBODY around here is still living unaffected.

(I got lucky as heck to even get into this nursing program im in, they only pick 50 and around 600 people tried to get in).  They obviously saw something in me... I wonder what that could be (have you seen my dancing videos!??!?!)

Ive been on this board since I was 16, and although I will admit, I should know more than what I do when it comes to this business, I know its what I want to do.  Nursing is just a way to get me some quick cash and keep me out of poverty heaven forbid investing doesnt work out.  I deffinetly want to get out of nursing in the long run and get into something more independent.  My mind right now cant handle any learning beyond what college is teaching me, but after I graduate, im going at this Real Estate stuff full-head of steam!

Hoosier. That's fine if you want to makes some quick cash. Its just that you need to realize that it not just about the money. It's about how you act on the job and actually trying to make a difference in people's lives.. That's true whether you're in it for 5 days or 5 yrs.
