As most have probably heard, Cali will be voting to legalize pot and tax it around November.  Its really close, could pass or could not pass.. we will see.. but

IF it does pass, what does this mean for other states... I was thinking and in my mind... they're are 3 possibilities..

1. Federal Government tries to override State powers to legalize Cannibas.  Federal Government keeps it illegal somehow with thier bigboy powers.

The States surrounding California will be dealt with 2 options.. either.

2.Legalize it themselves.   OR

3. Massive Border control to keep it out of their state.

I hope for #2.  I would prefer real freedom, where I can smoke a freaking harmless plant in the privacy of my own home without the big boy cops coming after me.  Yeah.. crazy thought huh?

Thoughts on whats going to happen?

Bye bye Mexican violence, overnight, if the federal govn't finally gives up on this. Would you smoke pot if it was legal? Or Heroine, or cocaine?

Not me, but guess what, the same people that are doing it now will still be, only the money won't go to the drug dealers. Take away their money, take away their power, and violence.

There is little else in the world worse than stoner.  What a waste of human flesh...oxygen thieves.

I can't understand ho anybody smokes pot just from a practical point of view.  There is not a good job in the USA that you can get without passing a drug test.  Everybody that takes pot has a no count job.

You say if they make it legal then you can smoke it and work for Exxon.  But no.  Drinking is legal and so is carrying a concealed weapon (with a permit).  But if my company has decided that it doesn’t want to allow alcohol or guns at its company then they can fire you…you won’t go to jail because it is legal but you can’t work here.

nobody knows anything about themselves...cause they're all worried about everybody else.

hamburgers served at McDonalds - billions

deaths directly linked to alcohol - millions

deaths directly linked to marijuana - zero

alcohol is a complete mindless drug, yet it is legal....it only creates drunks, car accidents, bar fights, domestic abuse, and the list goes on...

at least pot is a mind expanded adventure that stimulates thought and creativity

Creativity?  I guess they think they are being creative when they are sitting looking out the window imagining that whole field of grass out there could really be full of marijuana and the clouds in the sky have magically been transformed into cotton candy.

Strap urine to your belt when you go in for a drug test with a warming container.... they will never catch you.

(Not what I do, because I dont smoke, however, a few friends pass their tests,)

If weed was legal, I would most likely smoke in the same sense that a casual alchohol drinker drinks..  After a stressful day at work, just light up and take a few hits for relaxation and stress releif.  I wouldnt smoke everyday.. maybe once or twice a week.

Its called moderation....  and self responsibility.  Its actually SAFER than liquir.  No deaths related to Weed.

Can we also please spare the "pot head" comments that i sure are coming my way?

no cotton candy please....pot gives the smoker bad enough drymouth without adding that carnival concoction to the situation.

If you want to have some fun when I was young I would inevitably find myself in a room of pot smokers.  I would look at one of them until he makes eye contact and look off.  Do it over and over again and soon they just start laughing.  They can’t help it.  They laugh and laugh and laugh.  Or they would freak out because everybody is staring at them.

I've held a number of corporate positions at 5 different companies over the last 10 years. Only two of them, Fortune 100, required drug testing, while three didn't. Two of those that didn't test were startups - one with 10 employees and another with 80. The third non-testing company is a global giant, yet I don't recall going through any tests. So, it is quite easy to get a corporate job if you are into this stuff

Come to think of it, I think a number of former colleagues at those startups were probably into drugs. Besides those, I know a few teachers, a friend who works in financial giant who does this occasionally. I guess they fly under the radar because nobody checks it after hiring.

In my Nursing class, I know 4-5 people who smoke cannibas everyday, and somehow manage to pass their drug screenings that we have monthly (our nursing program is weird like that.)  Its very easy to pass even if your not clean.

I just think people need to realize that this is something that is obviously failing big time when it comes to stopping it.  If ANY ONE OF US wanted weed right now, you could get it in 20 minutes WITHOUT ANY CONNECTIONS.  Obviously, the drug war isnt working ,and its just a waste of tax dollars.  Its a freaking victimless crime.

Legalize the plant, I wouldnt even call it a drug.  Its no worse than Tobacco or Liquir.

A start up is not a good job.  You come to work one day and the doors are locked and your paycheck bounces.

You had a new job ever 2 years?  You must be a contract employee that is why you were not drug tested.  We test contract employees also.

Well, I can dream that all of our dopers will move south, to where it is legal. They certainly are a waste of space and cause a lot of trouble around here and I'd be happy to see them go.

No deaths linked to marijuana? What? The stoners in your area never drive a car?

1. We were refering to medical reasons, such as lung cancer and such.  Its proven that although Marijuana may contain for tar than Tobacco (what i hear, but dont really believe), you wont smoke as much of it as you would Tobacco, so its actually not as bad.

2.  Using your logic... Alcohol should also be illegal right?  Because drunks drive cars and have wrecks.  Were NOT SAYING let people get stoned and drive, were just saying LEGALIZE IT.
