don't forgot to update & maintain your website regularly so your visitors will want to revisit and continue doing business with you. Yes, it is very important to come up first. However, the quality of your website will determine whether or not the visitor views you as being a professional & a market leader in your industry. If your site is cheap and never updated, they will just go on to the next one...

1) select the right targeted keywords & market analysis..(compete.com & semrush.com are great)
2) optimize website rankings
3) submit URL to search engine directories
4) link exchange and manager
5) monitoring, site reposition, and re-optimizing

good seo shouldn't have to be complicated...

Do something as simple as creating a google alert for specific keywords. Do it on a daily basis and scan the articles that pop up. Some have a place where you can reply and add your web address along with your name and email. When you reply, make an effort to relate your response to the article that's written. Don't use one word replies. This will start  you on your way to back link success!

Regarding mailings, you send say 100 letters out to prospects. What's next? Do you send another hundred a week later? Do you mix up letters with post cards? I've heard you have to "touch" people 5-7 times before you get a response. Thanks in advance. Rob

Interesting topic - we've had a website up for a few years and I've never done any of this - probably why I haven't done that many deals from the website.  All we have done is link back to our site from Craigslist and our mailings.  I'm starting to study this and am going to put some of the good ideas I've read here into action.

Rob - re: mailings - yes, you definitely need to commit to hitting them monthly for a direct mail program to be effective.  If you won't or can't, use another method - signs would be my suggestion as they generate calls from the git go...

yeah, you got to SEO your site. A website is useless if no one can find it when they are searching for your services or products.

You can easily triple your business if you incorporate quality seo into your marketing & advertising. so the 2 most important things to strive for are page 1 search rankings (top 5 gets 75% of the business) and your website has to promote a great presentation, otherwise they may find you first, but if your website is crap they will continue to look for your competitors because your website is what represents you...

if you go to melbourneseoservices (dot) com - they have a really good "SEO Manifesto" that you can download for free, it will tell you what are best and simple seo strategies you should incorporate to your site...there is also some pretty good videos....

cool... let me know when you are ready to devote some time to optimize your site.

I'll tell you where to start and and then what order to do things... this way if you have questions you can just post here and maybe somebody else will benefit as well...

I'll give you good advice. we are rebuilding the site for one of our customers - coastalanglermagazine (dot) com - and when we are finished we will re-seo it and we expect it to be around 750,000 visitors a month... We'll also be optimizing grandtouringvodka (dot) com - if you haven't tried it, it is distilled 6 times with no impurities at all...really smooth

just post something when you're ready :-)

I would say, approach the right SEO firm for the same. You need to implement a lot many SEO strategies in order to get the best output so, I think taking the professional's advice would be beneficial.

One of the great things about SEO is that it allows you to see many lenses on business that you can't normally see with most other professions.

SEO in general is comprised of 3 important parts:
1. Keyword research - this is the process of selecting the most important keywords for your site, taking into consideration their search volumes and competition;
2. Onpage SEO - content creation, customization of the title tags, description tags, H1-H6, navigation, site architecture, URLs, etc;
3. Offpage SEO - promotion of your site on other websites (aka link building). This can be done in a myriad of ways as well, some of which are better than others.

SEO for real estate must fall under the same guidelines as general SEO, with a few considerations in mind:
- localization - a very powerful element in real estate SEO which needs to be taken into consideration;
- specific real estate hubs, which can drive good traffic to your website.

Try this great property search engine. Search properties by address or owner in the city, state or zip code of your choice.

2.Create a XML sitemap and robot.txt file

3.Start offpage promotion such as submitting your site to top directories with high page rank,doing social bookmarking ,press release,article submission and forum posting.
