I want so badly to get my own place. Peace and privacy is what I dream about compared to what I have to put up with now. The problem is my current situation is all messed up at least how I see it. Here is my situation. I am working part time because my job is cutting everyone's hours down to nearly zilch. I can't find another job anywhere to save my skin. And I don't mean just any job either. I mean a better paying stable job that can provide me with enough income to get me out there on my own rather than being stuck under the roof with my folks like so many years before. I am stuck with student loan debt that I cannot afford to pay back which is a total of nearly 40k. I so regret getting a degree now. Then I have a few other debts that I am stuck with. And my savings account is like only 1 grand.

Yes I know it could be worse or others have it just as bad. I know some of you are going to say something like that, so I spare you the trouble. I just been up day and night trying to figure what I am going to do. It is frustrating and I don't know how much more I can deal with this situation.

You have to look at what's available to you.  If you can't find a better paying job, you may have to settle for a couple lower paying jobs and just work more hours.  There are 168 hours in a week.  How you spend them is up to you.  Some people are the type that will complain they have no time when they only work 40 hours per week while other people work 100 hours per week because that's what they have to do.  If you don't like your living situation, working more will keep you out of it. 
Are you the type of person who would rather live completely alone or could you find a roommate for a year until things get better?
Have you ever thought of joining the military?  Since you have your degree, you could join and become an officer.  It's not for everyone, but the pay is pretty good these days.
Just throwing out options.  Look for jobs not necessarily related to your degree.  Your degree shows you're trainable and capable of committing to something.  You may be surprised at who would be willing to hire you.

Roommate= never ever for me. I live with my parents. Yes I do want to be completely alone. Besides having a roommate means I don't get to do as I please whenever I want to out of respect and the need to comply with what my roommate wants.
I would take a second job somewhere if I could have. I was luck to get the job I have now thanks to my relative who pulled some strings to get the job. I have never been lucky enough to land a job all on my own. It was always about who you know, which kinda sucks for me.

Yet even that is not good enough. There is no need contact the military again. I already did that twice and the answer was still no.

Yeah I know I am grateful for a job even it got me struggling paycheck to paycheck. Really? That's not what I want. Yes a check is better than no check, but really? After all the effort I put into trying to make my life better than it is now, and I got nothing to show for it. I am not even gonna lie. The main reason I want to get into real estate investing is to make nice chunk of change not just to provide a better lifestyle but to payoff all those debts. Right now I need to get a big piece of that change this very minute.

You can make a really good living doing this and there is always demand.  I taught English classes in Japan for 2 summers and made about $40-$60/class part-time.

I think you need to leave the nest and try something new.  I know of a couple that saved up $40,000 in a 2-year stint teaching English in Japan.  They also had a safe and interesting experience that changed how they looked at the world.

With your accounting degree, consider sitting for the CPA exam.

Teaching is not in my blood. And I wonder who is going to come up with the money for me fly to Japan of all places. I know it won't be me. I can see the look on my family's faces now if I tell them I am going to Japan and I need them to drop me off at the airport. Yeah right.

This really concerns me because I have 3 friends in college and they are all going for accounting >.<.  I hope for there sake they arent going into a dead field (your not the first person ive heard accountants arent getting hired).  Mind if I ask what part of the country you live in?

But yes, I'de listen to Furnished and DaveT.  You cant have the mindset "im not going to do this and that."  You got to do what it takes to thrive. 

If the military wont take you... teach.  IF you dont want to teach, get a job from something unrelated to your education, even if its Mcdonalds.  You can do anything in this country, just put your mind to it. 

Like me, I went to school for nursing (and I DID NOT want to be a nurse), but I did it because its something I just HAD TO DO.  What you WANT TO DO and what you HAVE TO DO are different sometimes unfortunetly.  Its sad your degree doesnt mean much right now, but you gotta find a way to move on.

I'm gonna agree with scny here.

I'm in a similar situation as you (except I am still paying for school with loans, and like Hoosier4life2005 I am studying in the medical field, not because it's what I want to do, but because it's a safe field). I have about $30k in student loans from when I was pursuing my bachelor's degree. I got about halfway through and realized I wouldn't be able to get a secure job without some real practical education (I was studying English). I have a part time job now, but the hours have been so bad that I've gotten less than $200 on my last two paychecks. As of right now (Friday) I'm not even on the schedule for the whole of next week. I've applied for jobs and been denied because my credit is horrible because I haven't been able to pay all my bills on time because I'm not getting paid enough (I know, English major, run-on sentence? lol). The difference is I am not  myself quite yet.

If the situation is as dire as you seem to think it is, you would not put aside what don't want to do and do what you need to do. Getting roommates would be a good idea. The teaching idea is also a very good one. You haven't even looked into it. You might be able to get them to send you a ticket to Japan to come teach. You will probably have to stop looking for jobs you are qualified for and start looking for jobs you are overqualified for. Take the degree off your resume for such positions. And you have savings? pssshhh lol there's like $30 in my savings account.

Just be more positive. You say you've been up day and night thinking about what to do, but you should seriously consider the things that you've crossed off your list simply because you don't want to. It might be uncomfortable for a little while, but if you keep working hard and keep your goal in sight, you'll be able to pull yourself out of it.

Oh I am going to move on alright and move right into self-employment. I wanted that all along. I like the thought of having the freedom to work when I want and how I want. And get paid what I want. These things I can never do working for a boss.

Probably the same reason we are all doing this. Personally, I am an insufferable know-it-all and know that I'm smarter than all the bosses I've had. *shrug* I've accepted my flaws lol. So I finally decided to put all my intelligence and confidence to good use making me and my husband money.
