I was recently awarded a 52,000 sq ft steel building and erection contract. I am posting this to let others know that in Texas we are starting to see a turn in the commercial construction market. I have completed approx 22,200 sq ft of building and erection contracts this year already.

My building rep, the guy I buy my steel from is seeing a large increase in requests for quotes as have I. We have also seen approx 20-30% increase in steel prices since Oct of last year which has not throttled the market yet. If we can keep inflation at bay, I think we will see more expansion in the commercial construction market especially in the west and southeast.
