Thinking Ahead: High-Speed Rail in Southern California, a new report released by the Center for Urban Infrastructure, states that the California High-Speed Rail Project, which will ultimately link Sacramento to San Diego, will contribute a regional income benefit of $701 million to southern California workers who otherwise would have been unemployed. By 2035, high-speed rail will attract over 127,000 new permanent jobs to southern California due to the region’s increased livability and enhanced transportation network.

Tax Implications of Lease/Options:
As you have read from the previous information, lease/option strategy is a great way to leverage your real estate investments because it requires very little cash. The lease/option is more of a financing alternative than a financing strategy because you don’t own the property. The basic lease/option strategy involves two legal documents, a lease agreement and an option. A lease gives you the right to possess the property, or, as an investor, to have someone else occupy it. If you can obtain a lease on a property at below market rent, you can profit by subleasing it at market rent.

Success Magazine says that a recent survey showed that 72% of 1000 people surveyed feel, because of the current economic climate, the need to reinvent themselves to increase their earnings. As real estate investors we can identify with the“reinvention” this statement. Sure we are having to be innovative in the way we do business in the current market but as we choose to “reboot” ourselves we are finding that real estate is still the vehicle that creates long term wealth.
